Learning Services (SEN) Ltd was established in 2002 as an independent service to schools and other organizations, on behalf of children with special educational needs. The service is based in central Warwickshire, and is led by Heather Stack, Director & SEN Consultant.
We offer: –
- Annual service agreements to schools, on behalf of children and young people experiencing a range of special needs
- Termly or ad hoc service agreements to schools needing immediate and urgent support and advice, to complement existing SEN provision
- Pupil assessment advice at School Action, School Action Plus and for children with a Statement of SEN, including support for the formal assessment process under the terms of the 1996 Education Act
- Training events from one hour staff meeting inset through to whole week events, tailored to each school or organization’s specific requirements on a range of SEN and inclusion issues
- International training events, following on from a one-week training event at an International School near Lisbon in January 2008.
- Support for inclusion in schools across the ability range, following the International Baccalaureate and the National Strategies
- Training events for staff working in public places, where an understanding and knowledge of special educational needs in children and young people is essential to carrying out roles effectively, safely and with confidence

Heather has over 16 years experiencing in special needs, having worked in diverse education and special needs settings, including mainstream secondary and primary schools, residential and day special schools, and as a support and advisory teacher within two local authority support services.
In January 2008 Heather delivered a one-week series of special needs training events at a senior International School near Lisbon, following the International Baccalaureate.
In March 2008, Heather contributed to a national special needs conference
led by the Westminster Education Forum, speaking about government targets
for raising workforce skills, and current methods of training for teaching
and non-teaching staff in special needs.
